Question:

Is it permissible for the newlywed couple to be intimate before Rukhsati and moving in with another?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

 The Answer:

In principle, once a Nikah takes place, a couple are lawful for one another and may be intimate with one another. However, if the families and the couple have agreed that it is in their best interests to delay any sexual relations, then the couple should honour that and consider why it was delayed in the first place.
