1. About These Terms
1.1These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of darulfiqh.com (the “site”). By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the site.
1.2Our Disclaimer forms part of these terms. Please read it carefully, as it explains the nature of our content and the limits of our responsibility.
2. About Darul Fiqh
2.1Darul Fiqh (“we”, “us” or “our”) is an educational website. It publishes Fatawa (religious opinions on questions of Islamic guidance), articles and research for the purposes of religious education.
2.2The site is non-commercial. We do not sell goods or services through it.
2.3You can contact us using the Contact Us page on the site.
3. Using the Site
3.1The site is free to use for personal, educational and non-commercial purposes.
3.2We may update, suspend, restrict or withdraw all or any part of the site at any time without notice. We do not guarantee that the site, or any content on it, will always be available or uninterrupted.
3.3You are responsible for making the arrangements you need to access the site and for protecting your own device and data.
4. Intellectual Property
4.1Copyright and all other intellectual property rights in the Fatawa, articles, research, text, graphics and design of the site belong to Darul Fiqh or to the relevant authors. All rights are reserved.
4.2You may read, print, share, quote and link to our content for personal, educational and non-commercial purposes, provided that you:
(a)credit Darul Fiqh and link to the original page;
(b)make clear, when quoting a Fatwa, that it answers a specific question, and include the question where practical;
(c)do not edit, shorten or alter the text in a way that changes its meaning; and
(d)do not suggest that we endorse you, your organisation or your views.
4.3You need our prior written permission to:
(a)republish substantial parts of our content, or collections of our answers, in any book, app, course, database, website or other publication, whether paid or free;
(b)publish a translation of our content;
(c)use our content for any commercial purpose; or
(d)use the name Darul Fiqh or its logo.
4.4You may not use automated tools to copy or extract content from the site in bulk, or use our content to train or fine-tune artificial intelligence or machine-learning models, without our prior written permission. This does not prevent search engines and AI search tools from indexing our pages, quoting them briefly and linking to them.
4.5To ask for permission under this clause, please contact us using the Contact Us page.
5. Submitting Questions
5.1Where the site allows you to submit a question, we welcome it, but we cannot promise to answer every question or to answer within any particular time.
5.2Please do not include, in the body of your question, your name, contact details or any other information that could identify you or anyone else.
5.3By submitting a question, you:
(a)confirm that the facts you have given are true and complete to the best of your knowledge;
(b)grant us a free, worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive licence to edit your question for clarity, length and anonymity, and to publish it with our answer, on the site and in our other publications, without your name;
(c)agree that we may decline to answer or publish it, combine it with similar questions, or answer it by referring you to an existing answer; and
(d)accept that any answer you receive is subject to our Disclaimer.
5.4We use the information in your question only to consider and answer it and, once anonymised, to publish it. Questions can reveal religious beliefs and information about health or family life, and we handle such information with care and in accordance with UK data protection law.
5.5The question facility is not for emergencies. If you or anyone else is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services straight away (999 in the UK).

6.1Where the site allows comments or other contributions, anything you post must be respectful, relevant and lawful.
6.2You must not post anything that is defamatory, abusive, hateful, obscene or misleading, anything that infringes the rights of others, or any advertising.
6.3We may moderate, edit or remove any contribution at any time without notice. By posting a contribution, you grant us a free, worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive licence to publish it on the site.
7. Acceptable Use
7.1You must not:
(a)use the site in any way that breaches any applicable law or regulation, or these terms;
(b)alter any of our answers and present the altered version as ours, or present an answer as applying to circumstances it did not address;
(c)impersonate Darul Fiqh, any of its scholars or any other person, or claim a connection with us that does not exist;
(d)introduce viruses, malware or other harmful material, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, the server on which it is stored or any connected system;
(e)attack the site through a denial-of-service attack or any similar means; or
(f)use the site to send unsolicited advertising or promotional material.
7.2We may suspend or end your access to the site at any time if you breach these terms, and may report any breach to the relevant authorities.
8. Our Liability
8.1Our liability, and the liability of everyone involved in preparing or publishing our content, is governed by clauses 7 and 12 to 17 of our Disclaimer, which apply as part of these terms.
8.2Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
9. Links

9.2You may link to any page of our site, provided you do so fairly and lawfully and do not suggest any association with, approval of or endorsement by us that does not exist. You must not display our pages within a frame on another website.
10. Privacy
10.1We handle any personal information we receive in accordance with UK data protection law, and we collect only what we need to run the site and respond to questions.
11. Changes to These Terms
11.1We may revise these terms at any time by updating this page. The terms in force when you use the site will apply to you. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last updated.
12. General
12.1If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, it is to be treated as modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, or, if that is not possible, as deleted. The remaining provisions continue in full force.
12.2If we do not insist straight away that you do anything these terms require of you, or if we delay in taking steps against you, that will not prevent us from taking steps against you at a later date.
12.3These terms, together with our Disclaimer, are the whole of the terms between you and us about your use of the site.
12.4Each person protected by our Disclaimer may rely on and enforce these terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999. No one else has any right to enforce them.
13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
13.1These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the site, including non-contractual disputes or claims, are governed by the law of England and Wales.
13.2The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland may also bring proceedings in their local courts.
