Is it permissible to eat cuttlefish?
The answer
Cuttlefish are marine animals of the order Sepiida. They belong to the class Cephalopoda (which also includes squid, octopuses, and nautiluses). Despite their name, cuttlefish are not fish but molluscs.[1]
Explanation
As a principle, only fish are permissible for consumption from the marine creatures. Therefore, it is not permissible to eat cuttlesfish.2
